HUGE VINTAGE MEERSCHAUM LIGHTLY SMOKED! Pure. Meerschaum is one of Earth's rare treasures, a gift of nature perfect for smooth smoking. Unlike other tobacco pipes, a meerschaum smokes perfectly on your first bowl, and allows you to truly taste your tobacco of choice. Additionally, your pipe will absorb the smoke taking on a new character as it gently browns. This rather large, hand carved festooned Turkish Ottoman Sultan (7 ins. long!) lightly smoked Meer tobacco pipe is beautifully hand-crafted out of whole block meerschaum stone. You can really see the difference in yesteryear's carving details, as hotsell opposed to some of todays' cheaper, less intricate work. It offers a Meerschaum tenon and a genuine Red Amber stem in very good condition but for a very tiny sign of use at the bit. This older Meer's stem slides on the tenon, matching nicely, albeit a bit loose when cool and not being smoked. There is very minor darkening at the bowl rim, natural darkening the end of the shank. Considering it's age, there are just a few tiny handling marks and very minor darkening at the bowl top. It includes a custom hinged-case wrapped in black leather. This exquisitely crafted beautiful carving is free of any cracks or broken pieces - the carving in excellent shape. Made in Turkey of whole block meerschaum, and comes with a custom case, also in great shape. This fine vintage smoking instrument has been carefully refreshed, cleaned, and ready to enjoy.
