HISTORY
Old Drum Shop Ice Bucket Tin Civil War Drum Replica with American Eagle & U.S. Flag Graphics & Authentic Detailing. Drum-shaped patriotic Americana-themed tin ice bucket manufactured by The Old Drum Shop in Granville, Massachusetts.

Designed to replicate an original Civil War-era field drum, decorative embellishments consist of authentic detailing and accents, such as threaded red rope/roping, a red leather handle carrying strap, and three (3) “feet”/ legs on underside of bucket.

Additional patriotic decoration consists of vividly colorful, raised relief/embossed imagery depicting an American flag & Eagle bird on front and back sides of tin body of ice bucket, with a complementary brass American Eagle finial ornamentally affixed to the lid of the bucket. Not only would this stunning ice bucket be the perfect addition to any barware collection, for actual use while entertaining, but its Americana-motif and elaborately decorative nature make it equally desirable as an enhancement to any Patriotic collection or for home decor display in any room of one's home or office.

The Old Drum Shop is the name of the retail store on premises at Noble & Cooley's manufacturing plant in Granville, Massachusetts. It appears to have derived from the drum factory started by Silas Noble and James P. Cooley in 1854. (Jay Jones, with whom I spoke today, is the great-great-great grandson of James P. Cooley.) Reproductions made on the same machinery and using, where possible, the same methods and materials used by craftsmen in the 1800s. The process of wood burning decorations used on these drums is a lost art. It was used extensively on better toy drums where decoration was needed prior to the introduction of sheet metal with printed colors. These machines were last used at the turn of the century.”

Exterior body of ice bucket is tin. Interior of bucket is aluminum. Eagle finial decoration is brass metal. Ice Bucket measures 10 ½”H x 10" in diameter. Eagle finial decoration measures 2 1/4"H It is in used condition. Outside minor scratches and a very slight wear on a leather straps add to the old look authenticity. Aluminum insert inside was not taken care of properly but I think it could be cleaned and polished nicely.
