Acrylic on Canvas
Image Size 17" x 21.2"
Canvas size 20" x 24.5
We use a double primed Blick medium weight canvas, which is made for paintings two to three times larger than these works, cut to size and pinned to support, then a two thin coat back prime, this seals the back. This heavier gauge canvas with back priming produces a canvas that handles like vellum or parchment and the canvas can be mounted on photo board; not typically an option applied with canvas, yes they can be put on stretchers. The canvas is stabilized by the priming method and rolls , hangs and lays flat beautifully.
All paintings have plenty of extra canvas for mounting. Size indicated is the image size.
All paintings are protected by a coat of high quality Liquitex varnish
Canvas comes rolled in a tube mailer

"Scrollmate" hanging system included
It is intended that they be mounted and framed ,but we came up with the scroll idea so they can be hung up when you get them, canvas is sold rolled like this all the time but we would like to be able to enjoy them immediately, so we think you would like to be able to enjoy it when you get it too, and that has been one of the “hang ups”. Hang up solved, it is pvc pipe with a hand cut slit, then lightly sanded. You can hang and enjoy the piece until you decided wether or not it needs a frame. We think they do not and work great like this. Keeping them in this format makes transporting and storage simple and less cumbersome, and, well it is the way works are kept and shown in the Orient, stored rolled and brought out as wanted.
They are very light and a very lightweight/gauge picture nail does just fine. We hang them with 4” screws left about 2 1/4” off the wall surface and you can see the effect in the photos.
They hang from 1 fastener or 2 as you choose, 2 for windy locations 1 for calm areas. However one does fine 2 is a great aid great for leveling.
This listings photographs show the details of the pieces, the edging surface treatment, there can be over spray rustications etc. no bones about it it is a decorative folk item.
These were done with air brush, brush, the motifs are extractions from our sketch books, hand made into metal stencils. The tile is a variant, there are endless possibilities, of an 11th century roman floor tile that we have worked in quite a few directions and created probably 100 or more painting and floor cloths with it, can get pretty intense
