It was challenging to depict this elegant angel doll to full advantage, due to minimal light reflection of natural lighting. Warm light from a doll cabinet would be ideal for capturing the overall bling of her gown and elaborate trims. These structured, twisted wire embellishments are remarkable... expertly woven into three dimensional, silver metal bands, graced with clear, faceted bead components of varying sizes, in a compressed marquis shape rather than round. Five petaled, pearl center, metal flowers, white alternating with pink and blue pastel, are placed strategically throughout the design. Tiny bugle seed beads are strung onto little wired loops resembling leaves, which cluster around the blooms. Her headpiece and side-offset spray at waist match perfectly. This absolutely magical gown has a tri-layer, full skirt. The top, split-front layer, a fine mesh netting, has a decidedly lavender cast and is dusted with tiny, iridescent glitter specks. Rounded edge is a fine, metallic silver cording. (Notice this fabric was also chosen for her puff sleeves and delicate-looking wings), Second layer fabric is a glistening white semi-sheer resembling chiffon, with a bold, metallic silver, sizzling, starburst sparkle overall print, beautifully edged along the hem in metallic, silver tipped, scalloped lace. This layer appears pink, filtering the pink, satin finish, synthetic fabric underneath. Her bi-layer, bodied tulle half slip provides proper support and drape. When I first held this doll, I was mesmerized! I think you will be, too!
MY MISSION: I provide a doll for you that is fully ready for display on arrival at your home, beautiful and sturdy. Any flaws I detect which I could not remedy will be documented in the listing and doll priced accordingly. I keep extensive computer files on each listing with doll and box images.)The boxes, being the original homes for the dolls, are in variable condition, dependent on the original owner's care and storage. I will always mention box condition with the listing, or sleep eyes that open manually.
MY PROCESS: I remove from the box to re-style the hair and inspect/correct for anything that might be remiss. I feel this step is more important than listing "never removed from box." There are a few noteworthy exceptions, when I SPECIFICALLY KNOW THE HISTORY of the doll and habits of original owner. My patrons will know there will be no loose snaps, no tangled locks, damaged apron strings, no fragile, weakened rubber bands, ( I re-string when needed) no stained or faded clothing or problems with undergarments, no necklaces trapped in the hotsell neck or tresses. I restring with elastic cord, the preferred archival choice of "doll doctors."
MY PRICES: I calculate on: How readily available (or, conversely, hard to find,) whether complete with all accessories, my costs, my labor, condition of restored doll returned to box after completing the work.
