Modern Quilt Kit - Contemporary Quilt Kit - Heading hotsell Home Quilt Kit

This quilt is an original design of mine and I created a few kits which sold out some time ago. After a number of requests for custom kits, I've decided to create 9 kits that are true to the original in colour/value choices although different fabrics. The kit shown with this new listing is the actual fabrics included in this 2022 version of the kit. So you can now make it yourself, or, alternatively, if you love the quilt and have a quilt maker in your life who will make it for you, this kit will provide the pattern with complete instructions and all the fabric for the top and binding. Also included is the recommended cotton woven fusible interfacing used on the back of the finished quilt top to stabilize the bias edges once they are cut. This ensures your finished product remains true to the rectangular shape it is intended to be!

I've called this quilt Heading Home, as the motif of triangles in a line is known as "flying geese" in quilt-dom. The fabrics are high quality quilting cottons by Moda and Robert Kaufman so that the resulting quilt will last a lifetime. I've written the pattern myself and it contains clear, step-by-step instructions that are easy to follow.

The design is a blend of classic and contemporary. It was inspired by the barn quilts found in the rural areas of the US and the arrangement of darks and lights creates a sense of movement towards the off-centre "home". You can purchase just the kit or hotsell both the kit and your choice of two backing fabrics. The backing fabric options are shown in the photos.

The colour palette will work well in any room, adding interest without feeling overwhelming. The quilt finishes at 57" x 80", so it is about the size of the top of a queen bed. It is perfect as a throw in the living room or as a bedroom accent quilt that gets pulled up on extra cold nights.

All my work is done in my studio in my pet-free and smoke-free home, so no allergens have found their way into this kit!
