Vintage enameled milk pail, albeit missing its lid, likely produced for both French and European markets, dating to late 1920s - 30s. This charming milk pail is enameled in white with pale blue shading at the base and rim. A decorative band of hand painted roses in graduated pink hues and trailing greens are bordered by thick horizontal and vertical lines in raised black enamel, resembling fencing on which the roses would climb.
The body features seamed construction with a large raised ridge above the base, which provides additional texture. The upper rim and the fixed handle loops are enameled in red. There is a large patch of missing enamel at one of the handle loops as well as some missing enamel and rusting along the rims. The interior has minimal rusting through remains watertight.
Filled with flowers or a collection of wooden spoons/utensils, this sweet little pail is sure to add some French flair anywhere ~
