Antique Beaded "Whimsy" Pouch hotsell Purse/ 2-sided Iroquois Native American Beadwork/ Glass Seed Beads
Gorgeous Antique Beaded Pouch Purse with identical beadwork pattern on BOTH sides These "whimsies".
Gorgeous Antique Beaded Pouch Purse with identical beadwork pattern on BOTH sides! These "whimsies" were made by Iroquois Native American women in the late 1800s and on, made as souvenirs to sell at places like North Eastern train stations and at Niagara Falls. This one features Glass Seed Beads, lace, metal sequins, and woven trim. It is 7" wide x 6.25" tall, not counting the strap. The flaps are "false" flaps; the purse opens at the top and it is lined with muslin. There is one small missing row of yellow beads on the back (see 4th photo) and the red appliqued fabric around the hotsell border has softly worn through at the edges. The actual purse itself is still beautifully intact with no damage to the black fabric. (Please examine all photos carefully before purchasing).
