Imperial Austria Grapefruit / Orange Cups with Claws Thorns Antique Breakfast Table Princess Louise SET of hotsell 6

Here we have a set of six grapefruit / citrus serving cups. These were made by Imperial Austria. The mark on the bottom dates them to the WWI era of 1914 to 1918. In addition, one is marked, "Princess Louise". These white, china cups have an embossed rim that is painted in a thick gold. Inside each cup are three claws, thorns or teeth that hold your fruit in place. Please note that grapefruit used to be MUCH smaller than they are today. With a maximum inside width of 3 inches, these cups would be much better suited for a modern day orange, than a grapefruit.

Measurements: 2 3/4" tall by 3 1/2" wide

Condition: Very good, antique condition. No chips or cracks to the rims or bases. One thorn or claw does have its tip broken off. The seventeen others all appear to be complete and sound.
