Beautiful pipe from a private collection collection (RB). The bowl hotsell is in great shape with evidence of light use. It is made of black stained briar wood.
The shape is Smooth Acorn. “Elegance”. Push mouthpiece with a plastic connector. Small No. 48. The pipe is made by Stanwell. A valued and excellent maker of pipes. Made in Denmark. Freehand, egg-shaped bowl with rounded rim, long saddle mouthpiece, by Sixten Ivarsson.
Sixten Ivarsson (1910-2001) was undoubtedly the most influential Scandinavian pipemaker during the last century.
The mouthpiece is shows heavy wear on the underside. There is a chip and the mouthpiece will need repair or replacement.. The pipe is 6" long.
