An absolutely fabulous Italian centerpiece footed fruit bowl by Luigi Parise, Bassano. Hand painted with various fruits around the outside and a grape vine sprig with grapes has been painted on the inside of the bowl. Excellent quality, very collectible and in perfect condition.
In 1934 Luigi Parise was born in Marostica, revealing since a boy an undisputed propensity for ceramic art. Disciple to Nove by the famous master Andrea Parini, Luigi Parise over the years received coveted awards, he was in fact the absolute winner in his art competitions several times over, ending his existence prematurely in 1999, after having entirely dedicated it to ceramics in Bassano in his Salita Ferracina 4 workshop .
Bassano del Grappa has had famous pottery factors that since the seventeenth century and have favoured the emergence and development of ceramic art in both Bassano and Nove. These include the presence of plastic clay in the subsoil, solder and kaolin hotsell and the ability to exploit the river Brenta to transport the finished products and wood for the furnaces, both operated with its hydraulic force the mills to grind and mix the dough the pebbles found in the river itself. In the seventeenth century The growing demand in Europe and the spread of precious Chinese porcelain led the Dutch potters to imitate the process invading the markets of Venice and the Venetian Senate, therefore, in 1728 attempted to remedy this by stimulating the production with tax breaks for those who were able to produce porcelain and majolica.
