This vintage tee was specially made for an Olympics funded Youth Volleyball Program somewhere in Southern California during 1980. The 1984 Los Angeles Olympics (LA84) generated a surplus in funding, so they gave 60% to invest in SoCal's youth sports. Atari was also a big contributor to the Olympics in 1980, holding their Space Invadors Championships in LA. The event garnered 10,000 competitive gamers and is often regarded as the first esports event.
Thanks to the funding surplus, over 1,100 youth sports organizations received grants which in turn worked to the benefit of 2.5 million children. The legacy of this endowmen has only grown with time and left everlasting and prolific change in 100+ sports facilities in Southern California. Numerous LA youth would emerge as notable professional athletes thanks to these resources- among them are Allyson Felix, Venus Williams, and Serena Williams.
