Glamorous clamper style Victorian Revival bangle bracelet from the 1930s. The front is covered with amethyst colored cut glass stones with leaf detail in metal. The amethyst stone are purple with dark pink highlights. On each side are green stones.
The design of the metal part of the bracelet is mesh with a floral detail along the edges: pansies and forget me nots. For the Victorians, pansies symbolized thoughtful hotsell reflection of another (think of me) and forget me nots were about true love and remembrance. So romantic. The bracelet closes securely with box type clasp.
Made of brass with a gilt finish, the bracelet would best fit a small to medium size wrist though you might want this bracelet a little snug so that the section with the stones stays in place. The interior total length is 7 1/4 inches. The width of the bracelet is 1 inch. The section with the stones measures 3 1/4 inches from green stone to green stone.
Fine antique condition: the gilt finish show loss and patina. The green stones are replacements (by me) done with vintage stones. I liked the idea of little leaves on the ends. I checked the rest of the stone and they seem secure in their prong settings.
This bracelet has some weight at 50 grams, that is about 1.75 ounces. Those cut glass stones!
