An Extraordinary Vintage 1960's Does Victorian Era White Chiffon Gown!
THIS LISTING IS FOR THE GOWN ONLY! THE HAT HAS BEEN SOLD!
The 1921 silent drama Orphans of the Storm features both Lillian and Dorothy Gish, great aunts to my beautiful model and best friend, Linda Gish. This dramatic film by D.W. Griffith is set in late 18th century France, before and during the French Revolution. Griffith used historical events to comment on contemporary events, in this case the French Revolution to warn about the rise of Bolshevism. The film is about class conflict and a plea for inter-class understanding against destructive hatred.
This exquisite 1960's does Victorian Era white chiffon gown features a ruffled bodice with a pale yellow front panel under sheer chiffon. Yellow ribbon winds delicately through the lace panel on the bodice and at the tiered bottom of the gown. The sheer chiffon long sleeves give way to cuffed wrists. The chiffon gown overlay features an under skirt made of a light satin. A chiffon ribbon ties at the back. There is a zipper back with a hook and eye closure at the top. There is very light fraying of the chiffon belt at the waistline; otherwise impeccable condition. Tag reads Union Made, Made in U.S.A. This is truly a vintage lovers dream!
