ABOUT THE ARTIST: Chaly Mykola Fedorovich – was born on September 14, 1913, in the Donetsk region in the village of Ray-Oleksandrivka, Slavyansk region. From 1931-1938 he studied at the Odessa Art Institute. Teacher T.B. Fraerman. In 1939 he entered the Kharkiv Art Institute. Studied with Professor L.Yu. Kramarenko. Was a teacher for many years at the Lviv Academy of Arts and Lviv State College of Applied and Decorative Arts. Participated in more than 70 exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad. Chaly's paintings are kept in the Lviv Art Gallery, as well as in the Scientific and Artistic Fund of Metropolitan Andriy Sheptytsky, in the National Museum in Lviv, and in many other museums. The artist died in 1999.
