These vintage egg holders are very hard to come across,they are made by George Zoltan Lefton. The subjects are monks/friars dressed in long brown robes. . Their big cheeks are blushed. These monks have a ring of brown hair on their heads. These vintage egg cups have no visible defects. George Zoltan Lefton left his native Hungary in 1939 and moved to Chicago, Illinois. While he had no professional experience with porcelain or china, he was an avid collector. He founded Lefton China in Chicago in 1940, taking advantage of a hotsell move to a new country to explore his passion for fine china.
