I was struck by the simplicity of this wonder soup tureen/serving dish. It's French Limoges porcelain, by designer George Boyer. It's in perfect condition and is approximately 25 cm by 18 cm.
Here's what I'd serve in this:
Provencal Beef Stew
2 Tsp. Olive Oil
1 1/2 Lbs. Boneless Chuck Roast, Trimmed and Cut into 1 inch Cubes
1 1/2 Tsp. Salt
1/2 Tsp. Pepper
2 Tbsp. All Purpose Flour
2 Medium Onions, Cut into 8 Wedges
8 Garlic Cloves, Crushed
1/4 Cup Dry Red Wine
1 Cup Beef Broth
2 Tbsp. Tomato Paste
3 Bay Leaves
3 Fresh Thyme Sprigs
1 (14.5 Oz.) Can Diced Tomatoes, Drained
3 Cups (1 inch) Sliced Zucchini
3 Cups (1 inch) Sliced Carrots
1. Preheat oven to 325 F. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium high heat (non stick is best). Sprinkle beef with 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper. Dredge in flour.
2. Add beef to pan and saute 2 minutes, browning on all sides. Please beef in a dutch oven.
3. Add onion and garlic to pan. Saute 5 minutes. Add wine to pan, scraping pan to loosen browned bits. Place onion mixture in the dutch oven with the beef. Add broth, tomato paste, bay leaves, thyme and tomatoes. Top with zucchini and carrots. Cover and cook in oven for about 4 -5 hours until meat is very tender. Keep checking.
4. Stir in remaining salt and pepper if needed. Discard bay leaves and thyme and serve in this wonderful tureen.

Now for the fine print.
I only purchase items that I would have in my home in rural France and I hope that you love what you have ordered. You will get a confirmation of your order as soon as the order is placed. I will get your order shipped withing 3 to 5 days after payment has been cleared. Unfortunately, I can't accept exchanges or returns.
I almost always purchase items in perfect or near perfect condition unless it's something that is either very unusual or I believe I'll never see anything like it again. Sometimes, I just can't pass something up that might show some age. If you need more information about any item, I'm happy to take additional photos or chat on email. All items are sold ‘as is'. It's also difficult to determine the age of some of the items – I depend on the people who I purchase from to get as much information as possible.
I will pack your order as securely as possible. I ship from rural France via La Poste/Chronopost/Colissimo which means that it can take up to 2 weeks to arrive to the USA.
