A Note about Wood Fired Pots:
Wood firing is an exciting and labour-intensive process, and often unpredictable and serendipitous in its results. This includes wonkiness, warping, and wobbliness. The kiln gets hot enough for the clay to start to melt and warp, and that means that we don't always get out perfectly round or perfectly stable pots. And you know what? We actually don't care! The surfaces, ash melt, flame trails and colour palate that we get in exchange for a little bit of perfection/functionality is totally worth it, as far as we're concerned. However, it behooves me to tell you, dear customer, that sometimes your bowl might wobble a little on a flat table. Your mug might have a dink in it. Your pickling crock might have a cosmetic crack. That's right. These pots sometimes come out as wonky and off-kilter as I am. They've been through hell and sometimes it shows, and I'm proud of them for bearing their scars while maintaining their beauty and uniqueness. The flaws hotsell are part of them, and I wouldn't change them for the world.
