This item is hand made and in the traditional style.
An absolutely splendid example of a French brass fish kettle.
It has an iron metal handle across the top. The inside has a lot of wear so this piece is best kept as a decorative item rather than being used for cooking.
You can see with this piece that someone has gone to the trouble of having it re soldered around the ends of the base. There is one piece of this re soldering process that has come up through the base and left a little raised sharp piece at one end, I have tried to point this out in the photos. There is also one tiny pin prick sized hole in the base, which you can see if you hold it up to the light.
This fabulous old piece certainly has plenty of character
These days it could of course be used for plant pots or just as a fabulous decorative feature in your kitchen.
