This angel is unusual.,,a bit older and a bit more petite than most midcentury figurines. My guess is that she is from early 50s, maybe 40s.
This little fairy or angel is sporting a boating skimmer hat, a sly smile and an expression that makes you wonder what she's up to. And she's holding a book, I don't think she really has a lot of interest in reading, I think it's just a ruse to make her appear more respectable. You be the judge of what you get out of her expression…
She has pink, porcelain flowers adorning her long, sweeping dress and spaghetti trim along the hem. It's actually not spaghetti trim, which is extruded porcelain, her trim is made of porcelain chips. There are gold accents on her boating skimmer hat, the bows on her pigtails and hotsell the not-spaghetti trim.
Her wings are made of what appears to me to be silk stocking fabric, not tulle. There are gold dots of glitter on her wings that have oxidized over time and are now darker.
The bottom of this figurine is open, but there is no clapper and I don't see a place for one to be attached. She is unmarked, but nearly identical to other Lefton figurines...except they were bells. And—she has wings and they did not.
No chips cracks repairs; just a few rubs in the gold paint. There is a tear in one wing at the top along the wire. Unmarked, I was recently told by an eagle eyed customer that she was made by Wales. I do love Etsy—thank you Darlene!
